High process reliability is crucial when parting off, as parting off is often one of the last process steps in the production of turning parts. The requirements are often very high, especially for smaller turning parts that are manufactured from bar stock up to \u00d8 32 mm on sliding headstock lathes or multi-spindle machines. However, this is where difficulties often arise: \u201cWe always encounter the same challenges when parting off: Long winding chips, chattering component surfaces and broken tools,\u201d explains Marc Wiesner, Product Manager for grooving and turning tools at G\u00fchring. To ensure that the surface finishes on the plane faces still meet the high requirements in the end, reworking with a separate turning tool<\/a> is often the only solution.<\/p>\n
