As a fast-growing, globally active company, sustainability plays a major role for Gühring. In the sustainability report, we explain what Gühring understands by sustainable action, what goals it pursues and how these are made measurable.

From vision to action
We take responsibility – continuously and concretely. Our sense of responsibility towards our employees, society and the environment is reflected in Gühring’s corporate policy. This is based on two objectives: the zero defect strategy and sustainable environmental protection.
Both goals are based on eleven core values that are continuously integrated into everyday working life:

Gühring is guided by the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact. These underline the obligation to comply with all applicable laws, but also the responsibility of all employees to act in a responsible manner.
Gühring sets out the fundamental requirements for the behaviour of individuals with regard to social responsibility, health protection and occupational safety in the Code of Conduct and in the Declaration of Principles on Human Rights Strategy.
In addition to supervisors, every employees and every business partner is called upon to report possible violations of this Code of Conduct and the Supply Chain Due Dilligence Act and thus help to limit the consequences of such violations and prevent similar misconduct in the future.

Product quality, customer satisfaction & supply chains: We set maximum standards for ourselves. With a focus on innovation, durability and efficiency, Gühring reduces the consumption of resources and guarantees the highest product quality — whether in machining, coating or refurbishing. With the sustainability guideline for suppliers, Gühring ensures that its suppliers comply with the same social and ethical standards. Our raw materials comply with the OECD guidelines and the requirements of article 1502 the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

Environment
Environmental protection as a concern
We are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and take it seriously. Gühring KG is certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 environmental management system. All environmental regulations are regularly reviewed through audits, inspections by the internal environmental management team and, in addition, by the responsible labour inspectorate and professional associations:

Employees & society
People in focus
Qualified employees are a company’s most important resource, which is why Gühring trains more than 50 young people every year at its Albstadt and Laiz sites. In addition to a variety of future-oriented apprenticeships and degree programmes, Gühring offers internships and thesis projects to make it easier for qualified young professionals to start their careers.
Gühring ensures the continuous qualification of its employees through numerous further training opportunities. These include regular compulsory training courses, the learning management system, the Gühring Academy and external training courses.

The occupational safety at Gühring strives for a zero injury strategy. To this end, all employees are provided with the necessary protective equipment (PPE) for free.
