As a fast-growing, globally active company, sustainability plays a major role for Gühring. The Sustainability report sets out what sustainable action means for Gühring, which goals are pursued and how these are made measurable.

Strategy & Management
The responsibility towards the employees, the society and the environment is reflected in Gühring’s corporate policy.
It is based on two objectives: the zero defect strategy and sustainable environmental protection. Both objectives are based on eleven core values, which are continually integrated in the daily work routine:
Gühring follows the ten principles of the United Nations Global Company. These highlight the obligation to comply with all applicable laws, but also the role that all employees play in responsible conduct.
Gühring sets out the basic requirements for the conduct of individuals with regard to social responsibility, health protection and occupational safety in the Compliance guideline.
In addition to supervisors, every employee as well as every business partner is called upon to report possible violations of this compliance guideline and the Supply Chain Act and thus contribute to limiting the consequences of such violations and to preventing comparable misconduct in the future. With the sustainability guideline for suppliers, Gühring ensures that its supplier companies apply and comply with the same benchmarks in terms of social and ethical standards. Find more information under Becoming a supplier.

Environment
Gühring KG is certified in accordance with ISO 14001 environmental management system. All environmental regulations are regularly reviewed via audits, inspections by the internal environmental management and additionally by the respective labour inspectorate and professional associations:

Since 2015, Gühring has maintained an energy management system certified by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001.
All locations not audited in the certificate are audited within an energy audit according to DIN EN 16247-1.
Employees and society
The most important resource of a company is qualified employees. For this reason, Gühring trains more than 50 young people every year at the sites Albstadt and Laiz. In addition to a wide range of future-oriented apprenticeships and degree courses, Gühring offers internships and final theses to help qualified young people start their careers. Gühring ensures the continuous qualification of its employees through numerous further training opportunities. These include regular compulsory trainings, the learning management system, the Gühring Academy and external training.
Occupational safety at Gühring strives for a zero injury strategy. For this purpose, all employees are provided with the necessary protective equipment (PSA) free of charge.
